British Asian Trust
Location: Central London
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Circa £75-80k pa
The British Asian Trust is looking for a dynamic Fundraising Director to lead its continued income growth strategy; someone with an exceptional track record in high value fundraising who is comfortable working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales, and a group of visionary British Asian business leaders to tackle inequality and poverty in South Asia. The charity uses innovative solutions such as impact investment and social enterprise to deliver positive change in the areas of education, livelihoods, anti-trafficking and mental health. Working in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, since its inception the Trust has helped transform the lives of more than four million people.
The organisation’s annual turnover has more than tripled in recent years thanks to the strength of the relationships built with leading members of the British Asian diaspora. It is the sector leader in the use of social finance to help solve challenges in the field of international development. Its results have been phenomenal.
2019 is a very exciting time to be joining the organisation. The leadership team has an ambitious but realistic growth strategy in place, across both programmes and fundraising. The Trust is also getting ready to join forces with a major conservation charity and looking forward to growing income to fund a new conservation vertical.
Anticipating the positive impact these growth plans will have on its organisation, the British Asian Trust has recently refreshed the structure of their Senior Leadership Team. It has created two leadership roles who will work closely in unison: this role - the Fundraising Director and a new role, the Director of Programme Strategy and Partnerships.
The Fundraising Director will take responsibility for leading the small, talented team to develop and deliver a transformational fundraising strategy. Key to success will be your ability to adapt to changing priorities; at one moment thinking big and strategically, the next rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
Your focus will be on high value fundraising - specifically philanthropy, corporate partnerships and events. You need to be an experienced practitioner with a track record securing six and/or seven figure gifts/partnerships. And of course, you must share our vision of a South Asia that is free from inequality and injustice.
If you think you meet our brief and have what it takes, we are keen to hear from you.
