Director of Fundraising and Supporter Engagement
Location: Waterloo, London
Salary: circa £90,000
Christian Aid is a faith-based organisation, anchored in thousands of church congregations and a wide network of trusted partnerships with organisations across the world who share their values. Their commitment is to eradicate extreme poverty, dismantle its root causes around the world and enable the voice and agency of the poor and marginalised to be fully realised. Operating in 37 countries, alongside around 500 local, national and international partners, the organisation delivers long-term development programmes, responds to humanitarian crises (reaching over one million people in 2017/18), and, through campaigning, advocacy and education, achieves long-term change for the world’s poorest communities.
Christian Aid is seeking a new Director of Fundraising and Supporter Engagement to lead on all their public fundraising, supporter engagement and communication functions and to be part of their bold new strategy to diversify and strengthen the charity’s presence globally and bring them closer to their vision of ending poverty.
The role involves leading on developing even more effective coordination and engagement with supporters and church communities to inspire them to give, act and pray for the ending of poverty. It also plays a key and active role in Christian Aid’s Directorate team.
The charity is looking for a strategic, analytical thinker with a track record of developing marketing and fundraising strategies and of change management. You will have proven experience in leading and motivating multi-disciplinary management teams as well as of fundraising delivery across multiple fundraising streams. You will also have experience of managing a range of marketing and communication channels and of growing brands. A deep understanding of the Church landscape in the UK, an ability to operate across multiple denominational structures and a clear sense of calling to Christian Aid’s mission are all essential.
